Mary Owens

Mary Owens is married to her wonderful husband David for over 35 years. They have two grown children, Lauren and Michael. Lauren is married to John and they have a two year old daughter named Greta Elizabeth. They are expecting their second daughter May 2022. Michael is married to Elana and they are expecting their first baby, a son, April 2022. Both Mary and Dave will tell you that being a grandparent is the best blessing of all.

Mary recently retired from the Special Learning Center after 28 years as a pediatric physical therapist. A very tough decision to make. She continues to be in the lives of some of those children by coaching Challenger baseball with her husband in the summer. Another truly wonderful blessing.

Mary loves to facilitate bibles studies in her home with her good friend Carol. They have done this for over 15 years. She has a passion to disciple younger women based on the scripture found in Titus 2:3-5. Her desire is to train the younger women to love their husbands and their children and to live a life that honors God.

Mary started attending Women On Wednesdays Bible study this year and has had the opportunity to meet women from all denominations as they serve God in their community. She is on the Women’s leadership team at Capital City Christian Church. She participates in the Acts of Kindness ministry. She loves working in the nursery and being available for the City Champions ministry when a child needs a buddy.

Mary enjoys exercise and opportunities to be in any challenges, especially when they involve her own children. She loves running and cycling and figures it is all worth it when it is done with love and of course some competition. Having goals are what keep you young and fighting, however challenging they may be!!!
